He was born with the purpose of satisfying a professional challenge, and the entrepreneurial spirit of Mr. Pedro David Schmitt, a newly formed mechanical engineer, and Mr. Valdir Riffel, a metallurgical technician, who at the time had returned from Germany after 10 years living in that country. The company was founded on April 15, 1982, at Avenida Lauro Müller, in the city of Brusque - SC, in a small shed with only two employees. With the cold forming process, it did not have adequate machinery and the steel for production was manually cut. In this first year only 73,500 pieces were produced.
In January of 1988, company was transferred to the city of Guabiruba, where had acquired land with an area of 21,600 m² and a building constructed in precast, with more than 2,000m². At this time, the company had 51 employees and the annual production of 3,600,000 pieces. In 1996, it expanded its built area, to 5,000m². In recent years Açopeças has been investing in innovation and professionalization, expanding its sales in the domestic automotive market. It currently has 180 employees and produces more than 15,000,000 pieces per year.

Recognized for its know-how, Açopeças has been operating in the cold forming segment since 1982, offering technical solutions to its customers. We produce more than 15 million pieces per year in different types of metals through the cold forming process, including NEAR-NET-SHAPE and CROSS FORGING processes, with excellent finishing. Açopeças’ focus is on transforming metals into high-precision products with profitability. Açopeças provides high precision products, ensuring a better performance.
The plant has hydraulic and mechanical presses with capacities between 160 tons. and 1,500 tons, allowing to produce a wide variety of products. The company is process oriented, focusing its efforts on developing superior products with outstanding performance and innovative features. Some of these characteristics are the result of the cold forming process that offers dimensional stability, and better mechanical properties.
